HoloSAR - An educational augmented-reality app for SAR visualization
As part of their study in the GIS Lab of ETH Zurich, our colleagues Shiyi Li, Manuel Luck and Marcel Stefko developed HoloSAR - a prototype of an augmented-reality app for the headset Microsoft Hololens, with aim to better visualize and explain the principles of Synthetic Aperture Radar (SAR).

Our group has carried out a multi-season measurement campaign using a bistatic ground-based radar KAPRI, focused on snow properties.

This publication in IEEE Journal of Selected Topics in Applied Earth Observations and Remote Sensing (JSTARS) presents a new method for the detection and mapping of so called retrogressive thaw slumps applied on two areas in Northern Canada.
